This year, we were able to hold our Christmas gathering after two-year absence. Mrs. Joan Mitchell van der Vliet, our honorary governor, kindly offered her official residence for an afternoon tea to De Liefde Club. In the afternoon of Monday, 28 November, our special Christmas gathering took place in the beautifully decorated residence.  After the opening words by Mrs. Reiko Koezuka, the representative governor, Mrs. van der Vliet proposed a toast and 49 participants sat comfortably at nicely prepared tables, enjoying delicious sweets, food, including Dutch specialty, bitterballen, and coffee.  We also had a peaceful time when Mr. Yosuke Hatano, professional violinist, played several pieces of music by Fritz Kreisler, Bach, and so on.  After getting excited at lottery for Christmas goods, Mrs. van der Vliet and several members sang some Christmas songs with piano accompaniment.  Everybody sang to themselves in soft voices, wishing Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2023.
